IS CHOOSING A
MATE...LIKE BUYING A CAR?
Before you start perusing
those online dating sites ask yourself some questions,first.
a. Is it street legal? Are all the
"papers" in order? Are there any prior issues that might
come as a surprise down the road? Do you have a legal right to
ownership? Is it stolen or does it belong to someone else?
b. Is it new or is it used? Did the
prior owner take good care of it? Are there too many "miles"
on it? Does it have a lot of miles, but it's still in good working
order?
c. Are you choosing it just because it
looks good, but something might be wrong "under the hood"?
Is it just a sports model; if so where do the children fit in?
Does it fit your needs? Is it going to get you where you need to go
and back safely and reliably?
d. Can you afford the maintenance and
upkeep? Are you using the right "fuel"? Are you checking
the "oil and tires" regularly? Are you going to run it into
the ground through misuse? If there's something wrong, can it be
fixed?
Getting the wrong car, like picking the
wrong mate can ruin not only your day, sometimes it could ruin your
life. What if there was an issue that needed to be repaired but you
neglected it, and ended up getting into an "accident"? You
could kill yourself and others in the process.
So, pick your VEHICLE carefully...take
your time, and don't spend your money unnecessarily on a LEMON or a
JUNKER. Remember: Even "new" cars can have serious
issues...so choose wisely.
