IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP A DISASTER OF TITANIC PROPORTIONS?
Imagine your current relationship is a VOYAGE that you willingly decided to take.
But you are not the captain of your ship...or, are you? Who is steering your ship?
What are the dangers that you didn't or couldn't see coming?
OK...so you thought that you were prepared to take this wonderful trip. You packed your bags, you got rid of the luggage (baggage) that was too heavy to carry into the ship. Or, did you? You thought that you were prepared for the trip...but were you? You thought that you packed everything that you would need, but you came up short. Everything seemed to be going well, the music was playing, the food was marvelous and then...
Were you or are you prepared to hit that "ICEBERG" that you didn't see coming?
I recently, told a friend of mine that his marriage was like a sinking ship in the middle of the Ocean of Love. I said: "Nothing can save a sinking ship in the middle of a rocky and turbulent ocean. It's gonna go down...whether you like it or not. God help the survivors."
These days, we allow other people or other things to steer the ships of our relationships. We believe that Love is going to be like it is on television or in the movies and everything is going to be "smooth sailing" all of the time. But, true love is NOTHING like the stories we hear or see. So, when we hit THOSE ICEBERGS of trouble that we didn't see coming---BAMM!--- the ship starts to sink and we have to do whatever we can to save the passengers (you, your mate, your children, etc.) because there is nothing that you can do to save a sinking ship that YOU WERE NOT NAVIGATING!
Please read my blogs on HOW TO PREPARE FOR MARRIAGE if that is your choice. Especially read the ones about how to pick a proper mate; and how to tell the good ones from the bad ones. Learn how YOU need to be the person someone wants to be with and not just pick the one you think that wants to be with you.
Get ready for the voyage of your life, but make sure your "lifeboats" are in order, that you have an emergency plan for any problems you might encounter, chart your course and especially, DON'T LET THE CAPTAIN FALL ASLEEP!!
You see what happens when you let other people take control of your life?
Good luck...because you are definitely going to need it.
